8/15/2005 - SBS Spotlight: Corbett Vanoni

Corbett's been with the Sketchbook Sessions crew for a couple of yearsnow.  He's been a dependable and welcome contributor to all ourprojects and has a punchline and a caricature for every occasion. His contributions to Zowie!(whose website he designed) are some of the funniest in everyissue.  And I'm sure I speak for everyone when I say that he's agood friend to us all, even when his hair is bleached blonde.

Check out his blog here!

8/11/2005 - San Diego Comic Con 2005 Photos

Check out some photos from last July's big comic con.

The expansive view of the convention from the Zowie!/SketchbookSessions table.  Check out fan favorite Clarke Snyder (facing us with the white badge) going all blurry from the excitement.  It took three days to walk across the con floor this year.  Four without a sherpa.

Ed and Keith (top left) look at Corbett (top right) suspiciously as he denies something gastro-intestinal.  We all know who did it though (hint: bottom left).  Speaking of, check out Sue's blog here!

Our pal in and out of the booth, Rodolphe, taking his medicine.

Stephen Silver was one of our neighbors who tolerated us rowdy kids sitting next to him while he crafted drawing after sweet drawing.

Our other neighbor was fan favorite and all around cutie-pie Ben Caldwell, who was off buying a dress or something when this was taken. Pictured is big Mike Moochasaurus and Ben's wife, Angela.  I caught 'em laughing at the size of my head when this was taken. Jerks.

8/10/2005 - Sketchbook Sessions Goes Blog!

Hey kids!  SBS has a new look and with it a new blog that will serve as our main headquarters on the web.  This will be a frequently updated journal of all our happenings whether as a group or as individuals.

We've got a ton of projects in the works and we're already trying to figure out our

San Diego Comic-Con strategies for next year.

And speaking of San Diego, you can still pick up a copy of the first limited printing of ZOWIE! DEUX: TALES OF TIKI TERROR as well as the new ZOWIE! t-shirt, available at the ZOWIE! COMICS website.

ZOWIE! DEUX features over 200 pages of full-color and black & white stories and pin-ups from over 20 artists in a gorgeous bigger than pocket-book edition with a stunning cover by Alberto Ruiz.

Also, check out Mike Manley's DRAW! Magazine for an article on the making of the ZOWIE! DEUX cover by Alberto.
